We present an adaptive optics sys- tem incorporating two novel features. Firstly, the framing rate of the system is 240 Hz allowing a typical closed loop bandwidth of approximately 10 to 12 Hz, but with performance as high as 25 Hz.

WebWe present an ocular adaptive optics system with a wavefront sampling rate of 240 Hz and maximum recorded closed-loop bandwidth close to 25 Hz, but with typical performances around 10 Hz. The measured bandwidth depended on the specific system configuration and the particular subject tested. WebClose-loop wavefront correction of aberrations in backscattered light from the eyes of three healthy human subjects was demonstrated after satisfactory results were obtained using an artificial eye, which was simulated with a short focal length lens and a sheet of white paper as diffuser.
